Sonicwall Global VPN Client

These are the installer files needed to setup the Dell Sonicwall Global VPN Client program needed for remote access to networks using Dell Sonicwall firewalls.

To Install on Your Computer:

  1. Download the right installer for your computer. If you’re not sure which you need, you can check by right-clicking on ‘My Computer’ and selecting ‘Properties’:
            Global VPN Client – This is for computers running a 32-bit Windows OS(Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8)
            Global VPN Client (64-bit) – This is for computers running a 64-bit Windows OS(Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8)
  2. Run the installer program to install the Global VPN client on your PC.

To Setup a Connection to the Remote Network:

  1. Run the Sonicwall Global VPN Client program
  2. Select the ‘Remote Access’ option and click Next.Sonicwall1
  3. Enter the IP address (where X’s are numbers) to the Sonicwall device that you are trying to connect to. If you were not given the IP address please contact us.

    Give the connection a descriptive name to make it easier to find in the future. Click Next.

  4. If desired, check the box next to “Create a desktop shortcut” to make it easier to initiate the connection next time.

To Connect to a Remote Computer:

  1. Enter the Pre-Shared Key to log in to the Sonicwall. For security reasons we do not list keys here, but if you were not supplied with a key please contact us.

  2. Setup the Remote Desktop Connection for the First Time:
           - In Windows 7, click the Start button, type ‘remote’ on the keyboard, and click on ‘Remote Desktop Connecton’.
           - In Windows XP, click the Start button -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Remote Desktop Connection

  3. In the Remote Desktop Connection, type the numeric IP address of computer you want to log in to. This is the LOCAL IP address, which is different from the Internet IP address entered earlier in the Sonicwall Global VPN client. If you were not given the IP address for the computer you need, please contact us.
  4. Click the down arrow OK next to “Show Options” and click “Save As.” Save this file to the desktop to make it easier to find next time.
  5. Log in to the computer using the same username and password credentials you would normally use.
  6. After you are finished, log off the PC and exit the Sonicwall VPN software by right clicking the square green icon (with an S) located by the system clock. Select exit from the menu.
